Associate Members are only excluded from the corporate governance of the HTMA. They shall not have the following rights and privileges:

  • Eligibility to vote in elections of the Executive Board and other matters that may come before the Membership.
  • Eligibility for nomination to and service on the Executive Board or Committee.
  • Eligibility for nomination to and service as Chairman or Executive Director.
  • Eligibility to be appointed or elected to Working Group Chair positions.

Associate Members cannot become full members of Working Groups, although it is possible for an Associate Member to participate in a sub group, subject to the approval of the Executive Board.

Accordingly, Associate Members cannot influence the policy position taken by the Association on any issue and are equally not bound by any policy initiatives taken by the Association. Having said this, input on various issues of interest to an Associate Member would be welcome.

In the very unlikely event of the Association winding up, Associate Members would not be entitled to any share of any surplus that might exist, nor would they be liable to contribute to any deficit.
