A View from Industry on Partnering and Collaboration
Across the industry there is a wealth of experience that can be harnessed to achieve demonstrably better outcomes collectively compared to what has been delivered in the past. Success in collaboration and partnering requires some key elements to be in place.

Abuse: A Serious Industry Issue
Attacks on gritting crews and their equipment appear to be happening more often and even more worrying is that it appears to symptomatic of a wider problem - abuse of road workers in general.

Membership as a Full Member is open to companies (or a division or unit of a company) that are active in the Market or form part of a consortium and/or joint venture business participant in the Market. All Full Members must be held in good repute and agree to abide by the terms of this Constitution and be willing to invest in shaping the future of the industry.
In addition, companies must either:
(a) Hold a current and significant portfolio of highways management and maintenance contracts that includes winter maintenance;
(b) Be a recognised strategic advisor that can demonstrate extensive or highly specialised experience in the industry.
Each candidate for membership as a Full Member must be proposed and seconded by two members of HTMA and be approved by and in the discretion of the Executive Board.
