HTMA Aims To Pave The Way Forward

Leading highways term maintenance service providers have formed a new sector body - the Highways Term Maintenance Association (HTMA).

The founder members are: Accord, Alfred McAlpine, Amey, Atkins, Carillion, Colas, Fitzpatrick, Jarvis, Jacobs Babtie, Mott MacDonald, MouchelParkman, RCS and Ringway. All are committed to work together to promote the overall image of the highways term maintenance industry, foster and develop standards, and share Best Practice knowledge and experience across the sector.

"We have created a unique body that will truly represent highway maintenance providers, including contractors, clients, consultants and product suppliers," said the HTMA's chairman, John Jackson. "We look to promote our industry, provide industry wide advice on future issues, and provide an excellent focus for our clients."

The HTMA will be affiliated to Constructing Excellence, whose Collaborative Working Centre (CWC) will supply the association with support and professional services.

The founder members of the HTMA believe that the formation of the HTMA is of vital importance to the highways term maintenance industry. While HTMA members are competitors in the same market, they all share the same concerns and together they will be stronger. By sharing Best Practice ideas and experiences, the association looks forward to the industry making huge steps forward.
